National Guide Dog Program (DBJCSA)

Date: Fri Sep 05 2025, 4:00 PM PDT – 5:30 PM PDT
Celebrate National Guide Dog Month by learning how guide dogs help people with visual impairments live more independent lives. In this program, Girl Scouts will explore how guide dogs are trained, discover the bond between dogs and their handlers, and learn how they can support service dog organizations. Girls will build empathy, gain a deeper understanding of accessibility, and be inspired to make a difference in their communities.

Adult Outdoor Training (V)

Date: Mon Sep 08 2025 – Sat Sep 20 2025

Adult Outdoor Training is a two-part training.  You will get information about Part B at the conclusion of Part A.  You are automatically registered for both parts.

Part A: Monday, September 8, 2025 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM Thousand Oaks Program Center

Part B:  Saturday, September 20, 2025 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM Oak Park Campground – Simi Valley

DESCRIPTION: Outdoor Training enables you to learn skills needed for camping and outdoor cooking over an open flame.  You will learn how to implement a  girl-led camping trip, how to cook in the outdoors, tie-knots, and much more.

Adults are expected to attend both sessions, be present and actively participate.
PREREQUISITE:  Registered, Completed Background Check and Stepping Out Training

EVENT DETAILS:  Outdoor Training is a two-part training. Part A is a classroom based training where you will learn the basics of planning a girl-led camping trip. You will be put into patrols and challenged to go through the process of planning a council approved trip. You will be meal planning during part A. At the completion of part A, you will need to gather/shop for supplies for part B. Part B Outdoor Training is a practical application of the preparation you did during part A and will be located outdoors. You will be required to bring various camping supplies and/or food.

Hispanic Heritage Month & Agricultural Museum Tour (DBJCSA)

The Hispanic Heritage Month Fun Patch event is a lively and educational celebration honoring the rich culture, history, and contributions of the Hispanic and Latinx communities. This event features a variety of interactive activities that highlight the diversity within Hispanic cultures, including art, and food. Participants can explore different aspects of Hispanic heritage through hands-on workshops, storytelling sessions, and cultural displays that celebrate traditions from various countries.

Girl Scouts Love State Parks – Carpinteria (DBJCSA)

Date: Sat Sep 13 2025, 9:30 AM PDT – 11:30 AM PDT
Let’s Get Out and visit State Parks!  Join us at Carpinteria State Beach to take a guided tour and learn about the history of the beach – from the Tomol (Chumash canoe) to the Harbor Seal Rookery, learn what makes this State Beach truly magical!  Girl Scouts will complete a field guide to record what they have learned about the history, plants and animals found here.

National Policewomen Day Program (DBJCSA)

This special day celebrates the brave and inspiring women who serve as police officers in our communities. It’s a time to recognize their hard work, courage, and the positive difference they make every day. For Girl Scouts, it’s also a great opportunity to learn about leadership, service, and the many ways women can make a strong impact in traditionally male-dominated fields like law enforcement.

New Leadership Awards Information Webinar (J,C,S,A,V)

New things are happening in Girl Scouts!

Join us for a virtual session to learn about the new Leadership Awards and the important changes to the Prerequisites for earning the Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards.

This session is idea for troop leaders, parents/caregivers, and Girl Scouts who want to stay up to date and ready for what’s ahead. We’ll walk you through the new Leadership Awards, how they align with each Girl Scout level, and what’s changing and what’s staying the same-about the Highest Awards prerequisites. Whether you are just beginning your Highest Awards adventure or supporting someone who is, this session will give you the insight and clarity you need.

Lego Brick Convention (All, V, T)

BRICK CONVENTION is the Greatest LEGO® Fan Event on Earth and brings all of the creative hands-on, minds-on fun of LEGO® building and experiences together in one activity- and entertainment-packed family event for children of all ages and builders of all skills and interests.

A portion of the proceeds from each Brick Convention is donated to Creations for Charity. Creations for Charity is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization that buy new LEGO sets for underprivileged children around the world during the holidays.
