Shining a Light on Human Trafficking: Awareness and Prevention – C/S/A.

Sponsored by Soroptimist International of Oxnard, with special guest Detective Ash’lee Grey from the Ventura Police Department Special Victims Unit, this powerful program invites all Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador Girl Scouts with their parent or guardian to take part in an important conversation about human trafficking. Together, we will recognize and understand this critical issue, explore proactive measures to help victims, and learn ways to prevent future incidents. This special session is designed to empower Girl Scouts to become informed advocates who can make a meaningful difference in their communities. By working together in a supportive environment, we can shine a light on this pressing global issue and protect those who are most vulnerable.

Girls will create their own moon phase models, design imaginative constellations, and discover the stories behind the stars—all while developing observation skills and sparking curiosity about the universe.

International Day of the Girl (All)

Through discussion, hands-on activities, and creative expression, girls will be inspired to raise their voices and support one another in becoming leaders in their communities and beyond.

Rededication Ceremony (All)

This special meeting celebrates both new and returning Girl Scouts through an Investiture and Rededication ceremony. New members will be officially welcomed into the sisterhood of Girl Scouts, while returning girls will recommit to the Promise and Law. Through storytelling, symbolic activities, and a candlelight or flower ceremony, girls will deepen their connection to the values of Girl Scouting and their troop community.
