Introduction to VIT – Oxnard (SA)

Date: Sat Feb 21 2026, 10:00 AM PST – 4:00 PM PST
The Volunteer in Training (VIT) Award is an exciting opportunity for older Girl Scouts to step into a meaningful leadership role and make a real impact on younger Girl Scouts. During this training, you’ll build the foundation of your VIT journey by learning how to plan activities, design meetings, support younger Girl Scouts, and apply the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) in real-world settings.

Please note:

This training does not complete the full VIT Award.
Participants will complete several key steps during the workshop, but the VIT Award also requires take-away assignments, including leading activities and two full meetings with a younger troop, which must be completed off-site after the session. A VIT mentor or troop leader will help guide you through the remaining requirements.

By the end of this session, you will leave with:

  • A strong understanding of the VIT Award
  • Completed planning documents for your activities and meetings
  • Leadership tools and confidence
  • Clear next steps to finish the award with a younger Girl Scout troop

The VIT experience is all about discovering your leadership strengths, building new skills, and making a difference in the lives of younger Girl Scouts—this workshop is your first step!

Cost:

$25
