CPR/First Aid Certification and LiveScan services will be available at the Oxnard Program Center. The certification training will be provided on site, and a LiveScan vendor will be present for Girl Scout volunteers to complete their requirements for AB506.

This event is for Juniors currently in 5th grade who are bridging to Cadettes (6th graders next school year) as well as any 6th–12th grade Girl Scouts who missed their chance to bridge since the last time we hosted this event in 2019, and their registered adult.

Explore Ocean Science with Cody Bahlau
Chief Science Officer, Research Vessel Marcus G. Langseth
Get a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like to live and work at sea-without leaving land! Cody Bahlau, who works aboard the research vessel Marcus G. Langseth, will share stories of ocean exploration, scientific discovery, and environmental stewardship. Girl Scouts will learn how science and adventure go hand in hand, explore careers in oceanography and STEM, and have the chance to ask questions about life on a global research expedition.
Format: 30-minute talk + Q&A
