Jam at the Summit! (All*, V)

Sunday, October 4, 2026, at noon

This is an amazing, full weekend of high adventure, traditional campfire songs, badge work, and more, all in a cabin-camping setting with meals included, at Pali Retreat and Conference Center, located in Running Springs, CA.

This event includes two nights lodging in cabins with electricity and indoor bathrooms, 5 meals prepared in Pali’s state of the art cafeteria, singing, Swaps, campfire, s’mores, and a Zombie Apocalypse. Each guest will be able to participate in 4 workshops which will be led by GS volunteers and Pali staff.

Every participant will receive an event sweatshirt and event patch. Badgework sessions are
available for every level of Girl Scouts – Daisy to Ambassador. High adventure activities are also available.

* 2nd year Daisies are allowed to attend if the troop has followed proper progression guidelines and the girls are ready for a sleep-away activity.

K-12 Coastal Art & Poetry Contest (All,T)

Ready to participate? Here’s what to do:

  2. Create your art or poetry
  3. Learn How to Enter the contest
  4. Submit your work online by January 29, 2026 at 5:00pm, or submit by mail (see #6 in contest guidelines below)

Winners and honorable mentions will be contacted directly and announced to the public (on this website and via email) by early April.

Wilderness Day Hike – Santa Barbara (JCSAV)

Wilderness Day Hike to Gaviota Peak

Trek Wild, a Volunteer led hiking and backpacking program in the GSCCC central/south area, is offering a day hike to Gaviota Peak north/west of Santa Barbara. This hike will include 2200′ of elevation gain (and loss) around 6.5 miles round trip.

Prerequisite: participants must have completed Trek Wild’s Wilderness Hiking Course

Meeting location: Gaviota Peak Trailhead ($2 cash to park in the lot)

Packing list: 10 essentials, appropriate layers, snack, lunch, and extra (emergency) food, daypack, 2 L of water. An email will be sent out closer to the hike with a weather forecast and layering suggestions.

Badge work: This hike will count toward the Cadette Trail Adventure Badge.

Cost: Free

Forms: Bring the Trip Specific Permission form and two copies of your Health History form – one is folded and placed in your first aid kit, the other is handed to the trip leader.

This hike will run rain or shine, as long as there aren’t safety concerns.
