Penguins & Pajamas – San Francisco – D/B/J/C/S/A/V

 Penguins & Pajamas: An Overnight Adventure at the California Academy of Sciences 

Grab your coziest pajamas and get ready for an unforgettable overnight adventure at the incredible California Academy of Sciences!  This is a private Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast event – open only to our guests!

At the Penguins & Pajamas Sleepover, the excitement begins long before bedtime. Once the museum closes to the public, Girl Scouts will get the rare opportunity to explore the Academy after hours, discovering amazing creatures and exhibits throughout the aquarium, planetarium, and rainforest. Along the way, girls will participate in hands-on crafts and engaging STEM activities, sparking curiosity and bringing science to life in a fun and interactive way.

As night falls, the adventure continues with private planetarium experiences, time to explore the rainforest dome, and incredible sights throughout the aquarium—from glowing jellyfish to fascinating sea life. Before lights out, everyone will enjoy a cozy milk and cookies snack, then roll out their sleeping bags in one of the Academy’s exhibit spaces—perhaps even near the famous African penguins!

A separate exhibit sleeping space will be set aside for families or troops that include men or boys, ensuring everyone can comfortably participate in this overnight adventure. Tagalongs are welcome, making this a perfect opportunity for families and troops to share in the fun together.  Please note – all tagalongs must be 4 years of age or older

In the morning, Girl Scouts will enjoy a light breakfast before departing at 8:00 AM. While the animals and exhibits prepare for the day, families can explore the beautiful surrounding area of Golden Gate Park before returning at 10:00 AM to continue the adventure with the included next-day admission to the Academy.

This exclusive Girl Scout overnight experience is packed with discovery, creativity, and unforgettable moments—perfect for curious minds who love animals, science, and a little nighttime magic. Bring your pajamas, sleeping bag, and sense of adventure, and get ready for a sleepover you’ll never forget! 

Cost $125 per person

Overnight parking is available in the Music Concourse Garage for $35.

Power of Produce Farm Adventure in Moorpark (All)

Date: Fri Jul 03 2026, 1:30 PM PDT – 3:30 PM PDT

Get ready for a hands-on farm experience where girls will explore agriculture, meet farm animals, and earn their Power of Produce patch!

Girls will head into the strawberry fields to pick and take home their own 1-lb box of fresh strawberries. Next, they’ll harvest a bag of delicious seasonal vegetables straight from the garden, learning about how food is grown and why fresh, local produce matters.

The adventure continues at the Animal Center with an engaging animal presentation and a special animal feeding experience. Along the way, girls will enjoy a farmer-led educational talk and a vintage tractor-drawn wagon ride through the fields.

This immersive outdoor experience blends farm-to-table learning, hands-on harvesting, animal encounters, and Girl Scout fun—all while earning a special patch to remember the day!

Santa Barbara Zoo Snooze (All)

Hey Girl Scouts,

Join fellow Girl Scouts at the Santa Barbara Zoo Snooze for a night of giggles, friendship, and wild adventures! Imagine camping under the stars with your troop, surrounded by the playful sounds of zoo animals. Get ready for a roarin’ good time as you explore the zoo after hours and create memories that will last a lifetime! After your overnight adventure you are free to explore the zoo on your own.

Date: Saturday, July 25 (6:30 pm) – Sunday, July 26 (11:00 am) 2026

Times: Check-in begins, Saturday at 6:30 pm and the overnight ends at 11:00 am on Sunday.

Who is Invited: D/B/J/C/S/A – GSCCC Troops and GSCCC Girl Scouts with their individual adults.

Location: Santa Barbara

Fee: $100.00 per person for GSCCC Members & $110.00 for all other Council members (All adult attendees must be registered girl scout members with current background checks)

This out-of-this-world experience invites Girl Scouts to explore the cosmos through hands-on learning and telescope viewing. Nature Navigators (BJCSA)

In Nature Navigators, girls will explore the natural world through hands-on science, technology, engineering, art, and math activities—all while learning how to care for the environment around them. From interactive games and creative problem-solving challenges to a guided nature walk and cyanotype art using fallen leaves and plants, this program blends discovery with eco-friendly fun. It’s the perfect way to spark curiosity, creativity, and a love for nature—while learning how to leave a positive imprint on our world.

BB Tie Dye (JCSA)

Put a colorful twist on your aim! This unique activity blends target shooting with art as participants fire at dye-filled balloons to create bold, one-of-a-kind masterpieces. Girl Scouts should bring their own item to tie-dye—like a shirt, socks, or bandana—to turn into their custom creation, we will provide the rest! Come dressed in clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy.

Cowgirl Roping (DB)

Saddle up, cowgirls! This exciting program introduces Daisies and Brownies to the world of roping. With guidance from our Equine Staff, girls will learn the basics from the ground up, meet our horses, and practice their roping skills in a fun and supportive setting. It’s a hands-on experience full of laughter, learning, and lassoing—perfect for young adventurers. Grab your boots and join the fun!

NOTE – This program is introductory, and no horseback riding will be involved. Proper attire is still required.
