Girl Scouts Tree Promise

All over the world, deforestation and climate change are damaging the planet. Trees help cool communities, reducing the heat island effect created by buildings, machines, and pavement. They also provide habitat for wildlife, create shade on hot summer days, clean water, and remove asthma-causing air pollution.

Join Girl Scouts to make the world a better place as we plant, protect, and honor trees with the Girl Scout Tree Promise. Learn how to solve community problems and use team-building skills to sow seeds of change with family and friends today!

Outrun the Sun

By earning the Outrun the Sun patch, girls will become a sun safety advocate!

Did you know that your skin is your largest and fastest-growing organ? Your skin is your body’s coat. It protects you from cold and heat. It keeps your insides in and the bad stuff—like germs—out.

It’s important to take care of your skin by protecting it from harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun and indoor tanning beds. Over exposure to UV can cause skin cancer, the most prevalent cancer in America.

Justice Patch Program

Two of the provisions of the Girl Scout Law is that Girl Scouts are honest & fair and respect authority. What exactly does that mean? How can you, as a girl make a difference? Complete this program and you will know some ways to make an impact!

By earning the Justice Patch, girls will develop a sense of fairness, an understanding of why we have laws, and how laws can be changed.  Girls will learn how laws are designed to help people, as well as the role of lawyers and judges in the community.

The criteria to earn a Justice Patch at the Daisy, Brownie, Junior, Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador level are listed below.  To earn the Justice Patch, girls must complete 3 of the requirements at their level. Please note: some Girl Scout levels have steps that are required.

Human Trafficking Awareness (JCSA)

This patch program has been designed to educate the participants on the complexities and realities of human trafficking, including forced begging and sexual exploitation. Through age-appropriate activities and guided discussions, Girl Scouts learn to identify signs of trafficking, understand the socio-economic factors that contribute to it, and explore ways to help victims and prevent future incidents, all within a supportive community framework.
