Sockhop with My Guy (All)

Troop 65436 invites you to a sockhop!

Come join in the fun with your favorite guy – Dads, Grandpas, Uncles, Older Brothers 15+, etc.  There will be dancing, contests, photo ops, and refreshments.  50’s theme attire is encouraged. Admission includes a fun patch and your choice of a drink and dessert.

Ambassadors Bridge to Adult (A)

Date: Sun May 17 2026, 5:00 PM PDT – 6:30 PM PDT

 12th grade Ambassadors earn the Bridge to Adult Award, their last Bridging Activity as Girl Scout girls! 

Girls create a podcast where they explain how long they have been a Girl Scout and tell younger girls about their most favorite memory from their years as a Girl Scout. The girls also talk with adult Girl Scouts to learn more about how Girl Scouts can continue to influence their lives in the years to come.  The Bridge to Adult pin is included.

Girls need to bring a completed Girl Scout Internet Safety Pledge and a completed Media Release form.  Links to the forms will be emailed out a few days before the event.

Special Event: Raptor Adventure, Birds of Prey! – Ojai – B*/J/C/S/A

 Get ready for a wild adventure with some of nature’s coolest hunters! Meet Willow the Barn Owl and a fierce American Kestrel up close as you uncover the secret world of raptors—fast, fierce, and totally fascinating! You’ll learn how these amazing birds help protect the planet by keeping pest populations in check, explore real feathers and talons, and discover what makes raptors the ultimate predators. Then, put your new knowledge into action by helping build owl boxes to support local wildlife. It’s an awesome mix of science, conservation, and hands-on fun that’s sure to give you major bird power!

Surfriders Santa Barbara, Discover Our Ocean (BJ)

Kelp Creations & Coastal Explorations

Dive into the wonders of the ocean with this hands-on coastal adventure led by a local Surfrider Club in Santa Barbara! Girl Scouts will discover the incredible world of kelp—one of the ocean’s most important ecosystems—through an interactive educational session that brings marine science to life.

Get creative as you design your own unique kelp-inspired artwork using cyanotype paper, a special sun-printing process that uses natural light to create beautiful blue ocean prints to take home.

Then, head out for a guided walk along the beach, where you’ll explore the shoreline, learn about local marine species, and discover how we can all help protect our coastlines. This immersive experience blends science, art, and outdoor exploration for a truly unforgettable day by the sea!

Please wear pants and closed-toe shoes that can get a little wet—adventure awaits at the water’s edge!

Program Aide Core Training (C)

Date: Sat May 09 2026, 9:30 AM PDT – 3:30 PM PDT

Learn valuable skills about being a mentor and sharing your skills, passions and experiences with younger Girl Scouts! Program Aides have the unique opportunity to serve as champions for the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.

Details: All girls 11 1/2 and older, are invited to attend Program Aide Training on their way to completing the steps of the Program Aide Award. PA Core Training involves learning to work with children and adapting activities for special needs and situations. You will put your new skills to the test with hands on activities that will prepare you for real life situations working with younger girls at day camps and troop, council, and service unit events.

Girls need to bring their lunch and water. Please no peanuts/peanut butter products.

Cost: $20

Girls must complete this course to be a PA at most Day Camps.

Program Aide Core Training (P.A.C.T.) is a council-designed leadership course and is an optional step to help girls earn the Program Aide pin. For more information on the Program Aide pin contact info@girlscoutsccc.org.

Kayak Adventure – Santa Barbara (CSAV)

Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast has partnered with Cal Coast Adventures and invites C/S/A and registered Adult Volunteers to soak up the sun and kayak!

Experience the wonders of the ocean on this private kayak tour. A knowledgeable tour guide will take you through the harbor and give you an insider’s look into Santa Barbara as well as some local history. Come explore with us on a Santa Barbara kayak tour and see all that this beach town has to offer!  Your guide will bring you within feet of Northern Fur Seals, Pacific Harbor Seals, California Sea Lions, California Brown Pelicans, and Cormorants. Next, you’ll explore Stearns Wharf, and after passing underneath the pier you’ll enter the Santa Barbara Harbor. The harbor will lend your eyes to magnificent vessels and Santa Barbara’s world renowned fishermen fleet who call the harbor home.

Waiver will be sent with email confirmation. No tagalongs.

COST: $65.00 – Girl Scouts (includes fun patch) $50.00 – Registered Girl Scout Adult Volunteer **if you wish to watch from the beach, there is no need to register**

Girl Scouts Gone Fishin’ (All)

Date: Sat May 30 2026, 9:00 AM PDT – 12:00 PM PDT
C’mon Girl Scouts – catch some reel fun!

Girl Scouts Gone Fishin’  is a 3-hour outdoor experience consisting of a fishing trip at the local pier. This three-hour adventure includes fishing, knot tying, baiting, casting, wildlife exploration and coastal stewardship. During these activities, students will engage in problem solving and team building while learning about the local marine life and how to protect it while able to take what’s able to be harvested. Students will gain occupational and leadership experience, while “catching a memory” and actively learning about the coastal environment.

COST: $35.00 includes fun patch & workbook for Girl Scouts – adults who wish to watch and not participate do not need to register but will not be allowed to assist your Girl Scouts or fish.  No tagalongs

They only need to take this class ONCE.

Basic Backpacking Course (CSAV)

The second part of our three step wilderness progression designed for individuals, teaches everything you need to know to begin a multi-night outdoor adventure. Gain the knowledge you’ll need to make important decisions about gear, clothing, and trip planning, then hit the trail to practice and hone your skills.

Practice Hike: May 16 8:30-3:00 Ojai area
Skills day: May 17: 8:30-3:00 Camp Arnaz
Overnight Trip Dates: May 23-24
Trip Leaders: Marin Sigurdson & Jill Murray
*6th graders need to have completed Wilderness Hiking Course*

Cost: $60/ individual covers insurance, group gear, sleeping pad, sleeping bag, and backpack. Backpackers also need to contribute toward food. Refunds available only when event is cancelled.

Prerequisite: Successful completion of Wilderness Hiking Course. Girls can attend without an adult.
