Benchrest BBs (JCSA)

Challenge yourself in mastering BB gun (air rifle) target shooting. There are a variety of different positions to choose from! Girl scouts will be instructed in gun safety, range etiquette, and accuracy training. Levels must be completed in order and will increase in difficulty.

Level 1: Benchrest BB’s
Level 2: Standing BB’s
Level 3: Kneeling BB’s
Level 4: Prone BB’s

Chumash Indian Museum Tour (All)

Date: Sat Nov 08 2025, 10:00 AM PDT – 12:00 PM PDT

Join us at the Chumash Indian Museum in Thousand Oaks for a special guided hike and museum tour in honor of Native American Heritage Month. This program is designed to educate participants about the rich history, diverse cultures, and lasting contributions of Native American communities, with a special focus on the Chumash people.

During this engaging experience, participants will learn about Native American traditions, art, history, and values while exploring the museum’s exhibits and beautiful natural surroundings. The guided hike will offer a deeper understanding of the land and its cultural significance, so please wear comfortable attire suitable for hiking.

This is not a drop off event, please register adults as well. Check in: 9:30–9:45 AM

Adult Outdoor Training (V)

Date: Wed Oct 01 2025 – Sun Oct 05 2025

This training  class is in Santa Barbara but is well worth the drive if you are a leader who still needs this training before you can take your troop camping.

Outdoor Training prepares leaders to teach their troop the skills needed for cooking and camping outdoors. This is a two part training. Both parts must be taken together and completed prior to any planned trips. Participants will plan their outdoor day during Part A and will be bring some camping and cooking supplies to Part B on Sunday.

Stepping Out is a prerequisite for this class and must be completed prior to Part A. Contact council for more information.

Part A: Wednesday, October 1st 6-9pm
Part B: Sunday, October 5th 9am-4pm

Note: Participants will need to buy food for cooking preparation in addition to the Council fee.  Each patrol will need to bring a few camping/cooking pieces of equipment.

Babysitter Badge Workshop (C)

Date: Sat Sep 27 2025, 10:30 AM PST – 5:00 PM PST

Get ready to build your confidence and knowledge as a future babysitter! In this informative program, you’ll learn what it takes to be a responsible and trusted babysitter through group discussions, real-life scenarios, and tips from experienced caregivers. Topics include child safety, behavior management, basic care routines, and how to communicate with parents. This program is perfect for anyone preparing to babysit younger siblings or family friends and wants to feel more prepared and informed.

Adult Outdoor Training (V)

Adult Outdoor Training is a two-part training.  You will get information about Part B at the conclusion of Part A.  You are automatically registered for both parts.

Part A: Friday, September 12, 2025 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM Online via Zoom

Part B:  Saturday, September 20, 2025 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM Oak Park Campground – Simi Valley

Outdoor Training enables you to learn skills needed for camping and outdoor cooking over an open flame.  You will learn how to implement a  girl-led camping trip, how to cook in the outdoors, tie-knots, and much more.

Adults are expected to attend both sessions, be present and actively participate.

PREREQUISITE:  Registered, Completed Background Check and Stepping Out Training

EVENT DETAILS:  Outdoor Training is a two-part training. Part A is a classroom based training where you will learn the basics of planning a girl-led camping trip. You will be put into patrols and challenged to go through the process of planning a council approved trip. You will be meal planning during part A. At the completion of part A, you will need to gather/shop for supplies for part B. Part B Outdoor Training is a practical application of the preparation you did during part A and will be located outdoors. You will be required to bring various camping supplies and/or food.

Harbor Quest: Discovering Imports & Exports – Port of Hueneme (JCSA)

Date: Sat Oct 18 2025, 10:00 AM PDT – 12:00 PM PDT

Explore the world of global trade and logistics with a behind-the-scenes tour of the Port of Hueneme! Girl Scouts will discover how products like cars, fruit, and electronics move through the port, and take part in fun, hands-on activities that teach the basics of imports, exports, and supply chains. Girls will also get a tour of both the north and south side of the port and get to see where our everyday imports and exports come in through including bananas, blueberries, fertilizer, and cars!

This interactive experience is designed to spark curiosity, build STEM skills, and introduce girls to exciting career pathways in maritime trade and logistics.

This is a drop off event!
