Join Jim Simpson, Former U.S. Navy Expedition Team Leader, as he shares firsthand experiences from Operation Deep Freeze in Antarctica. Hear about building runways and research facilities, supporting scientific expeditions in extreme conditions, encounters with unique wildlife and terrain, and surviving a dangerous whiteout in the Trans-Antarctic Mountains.

land use, improve food delivery systems, and fight hunger. We will also learn about food production, distribution, and the consumption processes. We will combine the knowledge of food systems with the urgency of environmental issues to create a vision for change. This program will culminate in a “Take Action” project where we get to address these issues by educating others, promoting local eating, or implementing hands-on solutions like community gardens.

Get ready to stir up your creativity at Paint & Pour: Colorful Creations for Kids! In this fun and relaxing art session, young artists will follow step-by-step painting instructions while sipping on juice or another fun (non-caffeinated) beverage. Whether you’re a beginner or love to paint, it’s all about expressing yourself, having fun with friends, and taking home a masterpiece to be proud of!
Girls are welcome to bring a friend—no Girl Scout experience required! It’s the perfect chance to share the fun and get creative together.

In this heartfelt Veterans Day meeting, Girl Scouts will learn the meaning and history of Veterans Day and explore ways to honor those who have served in the armed forces. Through stories, crafts, and a service project, the girls will gain a deeper appreciation for veterans’ sacrifices and discover how they can express gratitude through action.

Sponsored by Soroptimist International of Oxnard, with special guest Detective Ash’lee Grey from the Ventura Police Department Special Victims Unit, this powerful program invites all Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador Girl Scouts with their parent or guardian to take part in an important conversation about human trafficking. Together, we will recognize and understand this critical issue, explore proactive measures to help victims, and learn ways to prevent future incidents. This special session is designed to empower Girl Scouts to become informed advocates who can make a meaningful difference in their communities. By working together in a supportive environment, we can shine a light on this pressing global issue and protect those who are most vulnerable.
