Simi Valley Youth Council (C,S,A)

The Youth Council provides an opportunity for young people in our community to learn about and participate in our City government.

The Simi Valley Youth Council is comprised of 21 middle school and high school youth and three alternates who serve in an advisory capacity to the City Council on teen related issues. Youth Council members conduct special projects, coordinate events, and advise the City Council on the needs and concerns of the City’s teens. Each year the Youth Council hosts a Youth Summit that is designed to encourage youth to contribute to their community. Youth Council representatives provide monthly activity reports at the City Council meetings.

All Simi Valley residents who will be in the 7th through 12th grades during the next school year are eligible to apply.

Applications are accepted year round for one-year terms of office.  The term runs from July 1 to June 30.
