Get ready for a sweet adventure at Camp Arnaz! Girl Scouts will meet our horses, learn about their care and nutrition, and mix up tasty, no-bake treats—using fun, seasonal recipes that change throughout the year. It’s the perfect blend of hands-on learning and horse-loving fun!

NOTE – This program does not involve riding or grooming. Some treats may need to set in a fridge or freezer and be fed at a later time. If so, girls we be able to feed pre-made treats to the horses.

Get ready to roll up your sleeves and discover what you can build! In this hands-on woodworking and STEAM workshop, Girl Scouts will use real, age-appropriate tools, hardware, and materials to plan, build, and decorate their very own balance board.

Guided by experienced instructors, girls will learn proper tool safety and foundational carpentry techniques as they measure, assemble, and complete their project from start to finish. Along the way, they’ll strengthen practical life skills while putting critical thinking, creative problem-solving, perseverance, attention to detail, and craftsmanship into action.

Then it’s time to get creative! Each balance board becomes a blank canvas for girls to sketch, design, draw, or paint, creating a finished project that reflects their own personality and style.

Girls will leave with new skills, greater confidence using tools, and the satisfaction of being able to say, “I planned it. I built it. I made it!” Best of all, everyone takes home the one-of-a-kind balance board they created!

Girl Scouts will step up to the microphone and explore the world of podcasting! Participants will develop a topic, practice interviewing and storytelling, and work together to record a short podcast segment at the Program Center.

Explore the wild side of Camp Arnaz! Discover how Camp Arnaz serves as an important wildlife corridor and learn how we use trail cameras to monitor local animals. Become a wildlife biologist as you identify real trail camera photos and videos featuring deer, bobcats, foxes, coyotes, mountain lions, and more. Finish with an up-close look at authentic natural specimens found right here at camp!

Welcome to Filly Fun, an engaging science program designed just for Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors! Girls will dive into the fascinating world of horses through interactive sessions covering anatomy, breeds, colors, and equine behavior. Each experience blends hands-on learning with fun demonstrations, giving Girl Scouts the chance to connect with these amazing animals up close. Join us for a science-filled adventure that sparks curiosity and celebrates the magic of horses!

Discover how listening, empathy, and understanding can help bring people together. Cadettes will explore different perspectives, strengthen their communication skills, and learn strategies for building positive relationships—even when opinions differ. Through thoughtful discussions and collaborative experiences, they’ll gain the confidence to lead with respect, foster inclusion, and create stronger, more connected communities.

Cadette Girl Scouts will earn the Finding Common Ground Badge.

Build the confidence to connect with others and strengthen your communication skills! Juniors will explore what it takes to make meaningful connections, practice positive communication, and discover how kindness, empathy, and confidence help create lasting friendships. Along the way, they’ll develop the skills to navigate social situations while becoming thoughtful, respectful, and supportive leaders.

Junior Girl Scouts will earn the Social Butterfly Badge.

Step into the world of horsemanship with Equine Odyssey! In this hands-on program, participants will learn what it takes to care for horses—feeding, grooming, and keeping their spaces clean—while developing responsibility and empathy along the way. Time in the saddle helps riders build confidence, communication, and trust with their horse. Join us for an unforgettable journey into skilled equestrian care and teamwork.

Trek Wild is Volunteer led hiking and backpacking in the GSCCC central/south area

Take the first step in your wilderness adventure! Designed for individuals, our Wilderness Hiking Course safely takes Girl Scouts and adults out of the campground and into the woods. Wilderness Hiking covers outdoor skills and knowledge and is recommended -though not a prerequisite* – for the Basic Backpacking and Advanced Backpacking courses. Spend your morning in the classroom and your afternoon on the trail learning about safety, proper gear and equipment, the Leave No Trace ethic, and building independence in Girl Scouts.
