Kaleidoscope Level 1 Skills Zoom Session (JCSAV)

Join the Kaleidoscope Committee for an engaging Zoom meeting all about Level 1 Challenges — the fun, skill-building activities that help your troop prepare for the ultimate Girl Scout outdoor experience.

During this session, you’ll:

  • Learn what Level 1 Challenges are and how they fit into the overall Kaleidoscope experience.
  • Get expert tips and guidance from committee members who’ve helped troops shine at past events.
  • Ask questions and share ideas with other leaders and volunteers.
  • Discover how to help your girls succeed — from practicing outdoor skills to building teamwork and confidence.

Whether your troop is brand new to Kaleidoscope or returning for another round, this is the perfect opportunity to get inspired and set your girls up for success!

Adult Outdoor Training (V)

Date: Mon Nov 03 2025 – Sat Nov 22 2025
Adult Outdoor Training is a two-part training.  You will get information about Part B at the conclusion of Part A.  You are automatically registered for both parts and must attend both dates.

Part A: Monday, November 3, 2025 6:00 – 9:00 PM, Thousand Oaks
Part B: Saturday, November 22, 2025 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Oak Park (the city)

Outdoor Training enables you to learn skills needed for camping and outdoor cooking over an open flame.  You will learn how to implement a  girl-led camping trip, how to cook in the outdoors, tie-knots, and much more.

Adults are expected to attend both sessions, be present and actively participate.

PREREQUISITE:  Registered, Completed Background Check and Stepping Out Training

DETAILS:  Outdoor Training is a two-part training. Part A is a classroom based training where you will learn the basics of planning a girl-led camping trip. You will be put into patrols and challenged to go through the process of planning a council approved trip. You will be meal planning during part A. At the completion of part A, you will need to gather/shop for supplies for part B. Part B Outdoor Training is a practical application of the preparation you did during part A and will be located outdoors. You will be required to bring various camping supplies and/or food.

Event Fee: $25.00

The Cookie Entrepreneurship Series is a six-part adventure designed to help Girl Scouts build confidence, develop leadership skills, and discover what it takes to run their own successful cookie business. Throughout the series, girls will explore topics like goal setting, decision-making, money management, business ethics, digital safety, and people skills—all while having tons of fun with friends.

Each session brings a new theme and hands-on activities that spark creativity and teamwork. From pitching sales ideas Shark Tank–style to mastering online safety through the Digital Cookie platform, every experience helps Girl Scouts grow as entrepreneurs and leaders. Along the way, they’ll collect special charms and giveaways to mark their progress and celebrate their achievements.

Whether they’re dreaming it, selling it, or managing it, this series empowers girls to take charge, think big, and shine as the go-getters, innovators, risk-takers, and leaders they’re meant to be!

Adult Training: First Aid & CPR (V)

Learn how to stay calm, act fast, and save lives. This hands-on course covers essential skills to respond to common emergencies – CPR, choking, bleeding, burns, and more, all through interactive instruction and real-world scenarios.

  • Cost: $75.00

This course will be led by 4Points and is open to Girl Scout volunteers, troop leaders, and community members. Certification provided upon successful completion.

Forge Festival 2025 (All, T, V)

Come One, Come All!  It’s the annual Forge Festival at Adam’s Forge!

When: Saturday, November 1, 2025 from 11:00am – 3:00pm

Where: Adam’s Forge 750 East Easy St., Simi Valley

What: This could be your favorite thing ever!

Live hot forging, team striking, copper forming before your very eyes! We’ll have Blacksmithing Olympics for kids,  clay to play with and an ensemble drawing experience.   You’ll see jewelry making, needle felting, chainmail,  fancy knot work and more! The one and only Tony Swatton, armorer to the stars, will be on hand to share some of his special magic.

This is a free event, open to all.  Please sign up if you want to come and see what we’re all about!

Please note: This is a working shop environment, so please dress accordingly.  Closed-toe shoes are required to enter the shop.

You can also buy tickets for:

  • Try your hand at forging a mini-sword
  • Make a ring out of a quarter!
