“Shamrocks & Stories: Celebrating Irish Heritage” Girl Scouts event is to celebrate and honor the rich cultural heritage, history, and contributions of Irish Americans. Through interactive activities, storytelling, music, dance, and crafts, Scouts will explore Irish traditions, learn about notable figures of Irish descent, and appreciate the impact of Irish culture on American history. This program aims to foster cultural understanding, pride, and respect, while encouraging Scouts to connect with their own heritage and the diverse traditions of others.

Girl Scouts Against Substance Abuse: Leading the Change (DBJCSA)

Girl Scouts Against Substance Abuse: Leading the Change is a dynamic, interactive program designed to empower Girl Scouts to make healthy choices and understand the dangers of substance abuse. Participants will engage in educational sessions, a live K9 demonstration with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, and creative activities focused on mental health and positive peer influence. This program at Camp Arnaz combines fun, learning, and teamwork to promote life skills and mental well-being.

Badge & Bravery First Aid Event (BJCS)

Date: Sat Mar 29 2025 – Sun Mar 30 2025

“Badge & Bravery” Girl Scouts event is to equip participants with essential first aid knowledge and practical skills to respond confidently and effectively in emergency situations. Through hands-on training, interactive demonstrations, and teamwork, Scouts will learn how to assess injuries, treat wounds, perform CPR, and utilize basic first aid supplies. This program aims to build a sense of preparedness, responsibility, and empowerment, ensuring participants are ready to provide care and support in critical moments while earning relevant badges.

Automotive Design Challenge (DBJ)

Date: Sat Mar 22 2025 – Sun Mar 23 2025

Daisies will design and build a small model car, focusing on creativity and basic engineering. They will work with materials to create a car that is fast, efficient, and well-designed. Brownies will design and build a race car using a set of materials. They focus on making the car fast and stable to race it on a track. Juniors will design and build a car powered by the air from a balloon. The challenge focuses on using basic physics concepts to make the car move efficiently along a track.

Gold Award Training Virtual Webinar (S,A,V)

Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk Spring Overnight (DBJCSAV)

Date: Fri Mar 14 2025, 5:00 PM PST – Sat Mar 15 2025, 12:00 PM PST

Join sister Girl Scouts from around the country for the 2025 Spring Girl Scout Overnight at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Camping will be inside at the Boardwalk’s Iconic Coconut Grove.

More information will come closer to the event date, this will include parking, food and what to pack and bring.

Space is limited for this event. This is not drop off event all Girl Scouts must have an adult chaperone, either her own or her Troop leader. Troops participating must complete a “Troop Travel” intent form and be in compliance at least one week before the event.

Outdoor Training Class (V)

Date: Thu Mar 13 2025 and Sun Mar 16 2025

Outdoor Training prepares leaders to teach their troop the skills needed for cooking and camping outdoors. This is a two part training. Both parts must be taken together and completed prior to any planned trips. Participants will plan their outdoor day during Part A and will be bring some camping and cooking supplies to Part B on Sunday.

Stepping Out is a prerequisite for this class and must be completed prior to Part A. Contact council for more information.

Part A: Thursday, March 13th 6-9pm
