May Entrepreneurship (DBJCS)

Daisy:
Daisy Toy Business introduces young entrepreneurs to the basics of running a small business in a fun and engaging way. Through hands-on activities, Daisies will explore how to create, price, and sell their own toy products while learning the value of earning, saving, and sharing money. This program fosters creativity, confidence, and teamwork as girls take their first steps in financial literacy and entrepreneurship.

Brownie/Junior:
Brownie Budget Builder and Junior Budget Maker help girls develop essential money management skills through interactive and age-appropriate activities. Brownies will learn the basics of budgeting, making smart spending choices, and setting savings goals. Juniors will take their financial skills further by creating detailed budgets, tracking expenses, and planning for future purchases. Both programs empower girls to build confidence in handling money while making thoughtful financial decisions.

Cadette/Senior:
Cadette My Money Habits helps girls understand their personal spending habits and develop smart money management strategies. They’ll learn how to make thoughtful financial choices, set goals, and build healthy financial habits.

Senior Savvy Saver takes financial skills to the next level, teaching girls about saving, investing, and making informed financial decisions for the future. Together, these programs empower girls to take control of their money with confidence and responsibility.

Knots Workshop (DBJCSA)

Showing Up For Me and You Mental Wellness Workshop (SA)

Date: Fri May 23 2025, 4:00 PM PDT – 5:30 PM PDT

This session will discuss the meaning of mental wellness and why it’s essential for teenagers. We will explore the connection between mental, emotional, and physical health, helping teens recognize the signs of good and poor mental health.

Objectives:

Understanding Emotions: To develop emotional awareness and regulation skills. Teenagers will learn how to identify, name, and understand their emotions. The goal is to promote emotional intelligence (EQ) and help teens develop strategies for managing difficult feelings in a healthy way.

Stress Management and Resilience: To help teens Manage stress and build resilience. Focuses on stress and how it affects mental health. Teens will learn effective stress management strategies and explore ways to bounce back from challenges.

Building Self-Esteem and Self-Worth: To enhance self-esteem and foster a healthy self-image. Primary focus on understanding self-esteem and how it shapes one’s view of themselves. Teens will learn how to challenge negative thoughts and embrace their unique qualities.

Dive into Letterboxing (Brownies) and Geocaching (Juniors): Solve clues, use GPS receivers, and uncover hidden treasures while creating personalized stamps and trade items.

Plan the Ultimate Trip (Seniors): Research dream destinations, craft fun itineraries, budget like a pro, and learn travel tips to make every journey a memory to treasure.

Through creative crafts, hands-on challenges, and interactive adventures, this program builds confidence, curiosity, and a love for exploration in every girl. Get ready to navigate new horizons

Seafaring Ladies – Mystic Whaler Adventure (JC)

Join us aboard the historic Mystic Whaler for an exciting, hands-on Girl Scout adventure. During this five-hour sailing experience, girls will rotate through interactive stations that explore both science and history. From navigating with maps and plotting a course to learning about cargo prep, sailor life, and historic women in sailing, Girl Scouts will gain real insight into maritime life while engaging in team-based learning and leadership. This on-the-water program includes a fun patch and offers an unforgettable day of exploration and adventure aboard a working ship.

8:30am-2pm at the Ventura Harbor

Capacity 30 girls – THIS IS A DROP OFF EVENT!  Parents and troop leaders do not stay.

AANHPI Heritage Month – Fun Patch (DBJCSA)

The AANHPI (Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander) Fun Patch event is a vibrant and engaging celebration designed to honor the diverse cultures and traditions within the AANHPI community. This event combines fun activities, games, and interactive experiences to showcase the rich heritage, history, and contributions of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders. Girls can enjoy a hands-on workshop that highlights the unique aspects of these communities. This event encourages unity, learning, and appreciation for the AANHPI culture while creating an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere for all attendees. Whether you’re discovering something new or reconnecting with your roots, the AANHPI Fun Patch event promises a memorable experience full of joy, laughter, and meaningful connections.

Outdoor Training – Part A (V)

Outdoor Training prepares leaders to teach their troop the skills needed for cooking and camping outdoors. This is a two part training. Both parts must be taken together and completed prior to any planned trips. Participants will plan their outdoor day during Part A and will be bring some camping and cooking supplies to Part B.

Stepping Out is a prerequisite for this class and must be completed prior to Part A. Contact council for more information.

Part A: May 13th at Thousand Oaks Program Center 6pm-9pm

Finding My Voice Workshop (DBJCSA)

Date: Fri May 09 2025, 4:00 PM PDT – 5:00 PM PDT

In this engaging and interactive program, Girl Scouts will explore the foundations of democracy and discover how their voices can create meaningful change. Through hands-on activities, thought-provoking discussions, and collaborative projects, participants will learn about the principles of government, civic responsibility, and the importance of active participation in their communities.

Girls will gain an understanding of the voting process, how laws are made, and the roles of local, state, and federal governments. They’ll also explore inspiring stories of women in leadership and discover how they, too, can make an impact.

By the end of the program, participants will feel empowered to take action, advocate for causes they care about, and become leaders in their schools, neighborhoods, and beyond.

Space Science Badge Workshop (DBJCSA)

Date: Sat May 03 2025 – Sun May 04 2025

Blast off into the exciting world of space science with our hands-on workshop designed for girls of all ages! Explore the wonders of the universe as you discover how stars are born, learn about the planets and their moons, and uncover the mysteries of the galaxies. Through interactive activities, experiments, and fun challenges, you’ll deepen your understanding of space and the science behind it.

Whether you’re a beginner or an aspiring astronaut, this workshop will ignite your curiosity about space while helping you earn your Space Science badge. Get ready for an out-of-this-world experience that combines learning with adventure!

Daisys & Brownies will create pocket books of the moon phases and our solar system, learn about sun dials and how they have been used throughout history, and learn about common constellations and learn the origins of the constellations.
